Well, folks, that wraps things up for A Civics Lesson. I hope that you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed presenting it to you. If you’re a bit confused by the ending, or just want to go back and give it another look from the beginning, you can do so at the novel’s new project page.
You may have noticed that the site banner has revealed the name of the new novel for 2010: Frangible Time. FT is a very different kind of story than ACL is in its tone, though stylistically it should share some elements with it. As of this particular writing, I’m maybe about a quarter of the way through the story, and it’s shaping up to be a pretty interesting project. However, I’ve also been hit with a few severe setbacks in terms of getting it on paper; most prominently, I’ve been sick for a couple of weeks, which did very little to help me maintain momentum.
I had hoped, honestly, that I would have been able to have some content up here for you folks in the interval between finishing ACL and the start of FT’s run; however, this was not to be. I hope that you can forgive me my lapse of communications while I work out the kinks in my schedule and get a good-quality tale told. That said, however, there’s not going to be total silence here until the new year; I’ll be posting status updates on how Frangible Time is coming along, and at some point in December I’ll post up a short story I wrote a few years ago. Like I said, a little bit of silence, but soon things will heat back up again.
In any event, I hope you have a good Thanksgiving (in the US). I’ll catch you folks again real soon.
